Assignment 11 : Create flyer in Photoshop

In this assignment I used all of the text styles I learned from the first marking period, such as the distort, gradient overlay, and warp tools to create a flyer for student government, I also inserted a picture to make the flyer more appealing. I made it a gradient background to give it color and make it look interesting and stand out.


Assignment 12 :  Texture Dress

In this assignment, I learned to use Photoshop to give a plain white dress some texture and color. By using tools such as the magnetic lasso, and changing the layer modes I can place the texture fabric on top of a layer copy of the original and place it exactly where I want it, to make it seem like the dress is different.  

Assignment 13: Food Bank flyer mimic

                                                   

For this assignment I use photoshop to create a look-alike flyer from the Food Bank, I started with a solid background and gave it a gradient look. After I got my pictures of a gumball machine and grapes and placed both images on the gradient background, I used the magnetic lasso tool to select the gumballs only and cut them out of the picture replacing it with grapes. Then creating a gradient background and using a look-alike font and the Food Bank logo and adding the benefits of gapes I was able to finish the flyer.


Assignment 14a: Displacement Maps

In this assignment I created a painted effect look by overlaying an Brickwall distorted with a displacement map of a flag. I also used the Displace filter which also required me to use the displacement map tool, which works by placing the image over a grid that creates a textured look.

Assignment 15: Smart filters, motion blur                                                                                                                                     

In assignment 15 i used motion blur to create the effect of movement by the object in the image. I used smart filters to get the blur to be more sharp and natural looking. After wards i was able to erase (using the layers and clipping masks) the blur from the snail so that the only thing blurry was the background, thus making it look like he was moving. 

Assignment 16: Quick Masking                                                                                                                 

In assignment 16, I used the Photoshop tool; Quick Mask, this tool allows you to make selections in small details or areas that would be difficult for the magnetic lasso to select. It was easy to use and be precise. If I messed up I could just erase that area of the mask and continue, unlike the magnetic lasso tool, where if you messed up you have to start all over. In my assignment I used the quick mask to select her hair and change the color.

 Assignment 17: Soft Focus                                                                                                                    

In this assignment I used the soft focus tool in photoshop to give her skin a nice glow that makes her skin look perfect and flawless, and from what i learned from the previous assignments I erased the filter from everything but her skin and background. 

Assignment 18 : Flashdrive                                                                                                                       

In this assignment, instead of using photoshop, I used Adobe illustrator to create a  realistic Flash-drive using different shapes and gradients. Adobe illustrator is a great program for creating things and items using different shapes. gradients, paths, whereas photoshop is good for changing photos adding effects and creating posters. 

Assignment 19a : Bubble Letters                                                                                                                                 

This assignment was practice for the test, i was able to create my last name using only the line segments and shapes of Adobe illustrator. 

Assignment 19b : Pathfinder practice                                                                                                          

 This assignment was also a practice for the test, I learned how to put shapes together and use pathfinder to connect the shapes as one whole shape.

Assignment 20 : phone test                                                                                                                         

For the test, we used Adobe Illustrator and all the tools I learned in the previous assignments to create the phone. Some of the tools I used were; The different shapes and line segments, also the offset path to give the phone dimension and make it look realistic, I also used gradient to give is a shine and reflection on the glass and phone itself. This test was especially difficult because of the tedious work and small detail needed to make the phone look good. I also found the test difficult because of the small room for error, if you messed one thing up, it would make the phone look weird or incorrect, overall I found that Adobe illustrator is a very useful and entertaining program.
