3rd Marking period

Assignment 21a : Basic Shapes

This marking period I was introduced to a program called Google sketch-up. This is an amazing program that allows you to create shapes and text and give them 3-D effects and different textures. The program uses a 3 axis outline which allows you to make 2-D shapes like the ones i created for my first assignment, into     3-D figures like the ones in the next assignment. It uses a girl to show the proportion of the figures, you can also use a measuring tape tool which allows you to put in precise measurement which is good for creating building that require precise measuring. This is a great program for architectures and designers.

Assignment 21b : 3-D shapes

In this assignment I used the push and pull tool to make my 2-D shapes literally pop out into 3-D figures. It was rather easy and quick to do this, making this a simple program to create complicated figures.

Assignment 21c : Name in bubble letters

In assignment 21c I used the line, shape, and arc tools to create my name in 3-D

Assignment 22 : Blocks

For this assignment I had to use my skills that i practiced on in the previous assignments to complete 12 3-D shapes varying in difficulty. I also included  different shades of a color to 8 of the figures to indicate the different views of the shape (i.e top view, front view, iso view). there is a camera tool that lets me easily switch from view to view. In the last 8 figures I used the dimension tool to give the dimensions of the sides and even slopes.

Assignment 22 : (quiz)

In assignment 22, I had to put my skills to the test and pick one of the quiz figures which seemed to be the more difficult figures. The figure I chose was especially difficult because I had to use the arc tool and make that arc 3-D as well.

Assignment 23 : Bungalow House

In assignment 23 I used all the skills I practiced in the previous assignments in Google Sketch-Up to create a one room Bungalow house. Which is a low rising house with a sloped roof. I used all the knowledge i acquired from the quizes and shapes. I used all the tools, from the pencil tool to the measuring tape tool. I also learned to use the texture paint to give the house, fence, deck, sand, water, grass, windows, and concrete it's texture look, to make it look realistic.
Assignment 24 : 3-D Effects

In assignment 24, I exported my Bungalow house to a JPEG and opened it up and a picture of a beach into Photoshop. By duplicating the layers of the house and changing the blending options as well as opacity i was able to create a 3-D effect to the house. When you put on 3-D glasses you can see the effects in action.

Assignment 25 :  Animated Button

In Adobe Photoshop I used the shape tools and gradient effects as well as filters to make a power button, then by adding animation i could take the gradient effects and make it animated giving the illusion of the button glowing.
Assignment 26 : Show case Test

This show case Test was done in Abode Illustrator using guidelines, gradient tool and filters to create the room and light fixtures and also the the illusion of the light coming down from the light fixtures. I opened up photos of Apple products, transferred them into my show case using the magnetic lasso tool to get rid of the background and then displayed them in my show case.

Assignment 27 : My class Brochure
This is our last assignment :( and we went back to where we started with Publisher. I created a new brochure template and made a brochure about my classes, the types of textbooks, my teachers, how I get to school and a little bit about myself as a student.
